Chrisleton Village

This is Chrisleton.

Older people living in high-priced properties, with over 60% home ownership, nearly half of which are owned outright with no mortgage.

Range Rover mums on the school run stuck in traffic jams caused by Ocado vans.

I only had my 50mm lens so I couldn’t get any wide shots of the quirky houses or picture-perfect scenery, so I just did close-ups on details.

This sticker was on a lamppost right in the centre of the village.

The man who stuck it there lived in the house next to the lamppost. He came out and explained how the stickers were taking on capitalism and the corporate establishment, highlighting the immorality of well known brands.

“I just want to make people think about it…”

He had a bag of different stickers taking on various capitalist brands, and gave me a few.

I asked him if he thought the action has had any impact.

“Well, I’ve been threatened to stop using the national lottery logo”.

The Crocky Trail is one of our favourite days out. Its a bizarre, home-made theme park built by local farmer Ed Wally. Its borderline-hazardous to your safety but loads of fun. The girls love it.

Ed, a metal-worker who designs and builds all of the rides also makes giant metal sculptures, which haven’t always gone down with the nimbyist locals.

This review is great…
